As our newest member to the team Gretchen brings an artistic approach.
Growing up, Gretchen was very active in both sports and dance. She was a double major in Dance and Fine Arts and received her BA from Loyola Marymount University here in Los Angeles. It was a dance injury that lead her to a Pilates rehabilitation program. She became stronger and leaner than before, and healed her injury. She continued to dance and moved to New York where she received her MFA from Pratt Institute in both Painting and Sculpture. While she was in New York she continued to dance and train her body. She became certified in Gyrotonics and enjoyed staying active with bicycling, yoga, and Pilates. She later danced competitively with the Salsamania Dance Company in the Bay area and Mambo Rage in San Diego. In San Diego she continued to teach Gyrotonics and became certified and taught Pilates at The Body Alchemist. Now back in Los Angeles she continues to teach and explore whole body health and healing. Pilates is something she has always incorporated into her lifestyle, because of the immense physical and mental benefits it provides. She values anatomy, correct technique and enjoys teaching others how to connect with their body.
Stop by and visit Gretchen for an early morning wake-up call Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 6am, 7am and 8am and Thursday afternoons at 11am, 12pm and 1pm.
